International Soapbox Society

International Soapbox Society DiMBy Co., Inc., an independent company, is pleased to announce the International Soapbox Festival, as part of DiMBy’s continuing commitment to excellence in artistic expression and performance poetry. The festival will bring its celebration of "diversity in differences" to St. Louis, April 27-28, 2001. Members of the International Soapbox Society will occupy their "boxes", small one-person stages, throughout the Soulard district, each taking part in the tradition of solo performance.

Participants will include: poets, musicians, evangelists of various faiths, mimes, comedians, storytellers, carnival barkers, jugglers, peddlers, activists, political orators, and other Society members. Festival attendance will be free and open to the public. Participation, will include vistors and members. Those interested in joining the society may consult www.dimbyville.com for information and annual rates.

Friday April 27th - 7:00 - 8:00 pm Opening Ceremonies at Soulard Market and will feature one Soapbox with various artist.
